SUMMARY

Over three weeks, I took on the challenge of redesigning Yvette’s Bridal Formals website, which had previously been recognized as one of the worst websites in the world. I was responsible for transforming the site into a modern, user-friendly experience that reflects today’s design standards. Using Figma and usability testing, I guided the project from concept to execution, focusing on elevating both aesthetics and functionality.

Research to Ideation

I conducted a competitive analysis of bridal shops across the U.S. and Canada to identify both effective and ineffective website practices. This research gave me insight into how Yvette’s website could be elevated and aligned with industry standards. By analyzing high-end bridal websites, I established a clear design direction that emphasized elegance, usability, and a premium feel.

For the information architecture, I kept the structure simple and intuitive, with seven main navigation buttons and dropdowns where necessary (e.g., the “Dresses” section branches into wedding, prom, bridesmaid, etc.). The goal was to create a surface-level navigation experience that minimized confusion, with only the dresses page requiring a deeper dive to help users narrow down their search.
